About our insulation contractor crew in Richland

Cream-colored spray foam fills the roof framing beside a skylight, with blue sky visible outside.

Our story starts with my dad's attic work

I learned insulation from my dad. I started as a kid hauling bags into attics, then worked beside him for years before I started Comfort Richland Insulation Company in 2023. He taught me that the part of the job nobody sees still has to be done right, and our small crew in Richland still works that way.

Houses here get July highs near 90 degrees and about 87 freezing nights a year, so a thin attic or a drafty crawl space costs you on the power bill in summer and winter alike. Homeowners call us about hot rooms upstairs, cold floors and the room over the garage, and some property managers call about their buildings. I look first and do things in the right order, because insulation laid over a leak or an old problem just hides it. You'll find the full list of what we do on our home page.

What working with our crew looks like

Here's what you can expect once we're at your house, from the first look in the attic to the written estimate and the day our crew does the work.

  • We handle what comes first

Before anything new goes in, we check whether the old material is soaked or full of droppings and whether the gaps around can lights, pipes and the hatch need air sealing, which means closing them so the insulation isn't fighting a draft. That way your new insulation goes into a space that's ready for it.

  • The same person from estimate to install

I come out to look at your home and write the estimate, then I work alongside our installers on the job. Nothing gets lost between what we talked about and what gets done.

  • A plain estimate and honest answers

Your written estimate lays out each step in order, so it's easy to hold up against other bids. If the insulation you have can stay or the job can wait, I'll tell you that plainly, and if you have questions first, our contact page is the easy way to reach me.

Licensing and insurance for insulation work

  • Washington contractor registration

The state requires every construction contractor to register with the Department of Labor & Industries and carry the bond and insurance state law calls for. On a home job of $1,000 or more, the state also has contractors give you a disclosure notice. We're fully licensed and insured.

  • City licenses and permit checks

The City of Richland says every business working here needs the right state and local licenses. Before a job starts, I check with the city or county building office for that address, and if a permit is needed, we take care of it and let you know where things stand.
