Agreeing to these terms

These terms apply when you use this website or hire Comfort Richland Insulation Company, an insulation contractor in Richland, WA, for work at your home or business. When you browse the site, send us a request or accept an estimate, you agree to them, so please don't use the site or book work with us if you don't.

In these terms, "we," "us" and "our" mean Comfort Richland Insulation Company. "You" means the person using the site or hiring us.

What we do and what the site covers

We insulate and air seal homes and commercial buildings in Richland and the cities around it. That includes attics, walls, crawl spaces and basements, along with insulation removal and vapor barriers.

Our home page and service pages describe that work in general terms, and they aren't advice for your particular house. The work we actually do at your property is the scope written in your estimate or contract, and that document controls if it differs from anything on this site.

You can read more about our company on our About page.

Estimates and pricing

Estimates are free and come after we've looked at the job at your property. Asking for an estimate doesn't obligate you to hire us.

A written estimate lists the work, the materials and the price, and it stays open for the period written on it. The price is based on what we can see before the job starts. If we open an attic, wall or crawl space and find something we couldn't see before, such as wet or contaminated insulation, damaged framing or hidden gaps, we'll stop, show you what we found and give you the change in writing.

We won't do extra work or raise the price without your approval.

Scheduling, access and cancellation

We set a start date with you once you accept an estimate. Weather, material deliveries, permit timing and earlier jobs running long can move that date, and we'll let you know as soon as we know.

You agree to give our crew safe access to the work areas and to clear stored items out of the attic, crawl space or rooms we need when we ask. Please tell us ahead of time about pets, known leaks, past pest problems or anything else that affects the work.

Some products, spray foam in particular, require everyone in the house to stay out for a set period after it's applied. That re-entry time, when it's safe to come back inside, comes from the product maker. We'll tell you what it is before the job, and you agree to follow it.

To cancel or reschedule, call us at (509) 946-4684 or reach us through our Contact page as early as you can. If we've already ordered special materials or arrived on site, the cancellation terms in your estimate or contract apply.

Payment

Payment terms, including any deposit and when the balance is due, are written in your estimate or contract. The balance is due when the work is done unless that document says otherwise.

If a payment is late, we may charge the late fees your contract allows and the law permits, and we may pause work until the account is current. If we have to collect an unpaid balance, you're responsible for reasonable collection costs to the extent the law allows.

Warranties and what we don't promise

We stand behind our work. Any written warranty we give you comes with your contract and says what it covers and for how long. Warranties on materials come from the companies that make them, and we'll pass that paperwork along to you.

We don't promise a set drop in your power bill or a set temperature in any room, because those depend on things outside our work, like your heating and cooling equipment, your windows and how the house is used.

Beyond the written warranties above, this website and our services are provided as they are. To the extent the law allows, we make no other promises, stated or implied, including promises that the work fits a particular purpose.

Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, Comfort Richland Insulation Company isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost use of your home or higher energy costs, that come from this website or our work. Our total liability for any claim tied to a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.

We aren't responsible for problems that were already there before we started and weren't part of our scope, such as roof leaks, plumbing or electrical faults, or moisture coming in from outside. We also aren't responsible for damage caused by changes someone else makes after we finish.

Nothing in these terms limits a right that the law doesn't allow a business to limit.

Resolving a disagreement

If something isn't right, call us first, because most problems get settled with a visit and a straight conversation. If we can't work it out together, both of us agree to try mediation in good faith before going to court, unless the claim belongs in small claims court.

Governing law

These terms and any work we do are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, where we're based. That holds for jobs outside Washington too, unless the law where the job is located requires otherwise.

Any court case about these terms or our work will be brought in a court in Washington, unless the law requires a different place.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted on this page is the one that applies when you use the site. An update won't change a contract you've already signed with us.

Questions about these terms

If anything here isn't clear, call us at (509) 946-4684 or send a note through our Contact page, and we'll explain how it applies to your job.
